Nike and A-Cold-Wall* are collaborating on two pairs of Air Force 1 Lows.
One color way features black leather with dark grey suede and the other color way has a white leather upper with light grey suede on the heel, similar to the 2017 Hi version.
At first glance, the uppers on these Air Force 1’s seem ordinary—beyond the obvious additions (and subtractions, seen on the swoosh) heralding Samuel Ross’ collaborative design touches—but they are constructed out of Nike’s unique Fly leather material. One of Nike’s latest innovations, Fly leather is made with approximately 50 percent recycled natural leather fiber, which gives the appearance of the classic leather upper fans love while reducing Nike’s carbon footprint. This choice isn’t just another layer of marketing spin; it’s an intentional choice.
